What ages can one start martial arts? For starting ages, we ask students to be age 5 and up, though exceptions can be made for 4 year olds turning 5 within 2 months. We do offer Tykes classes at points which is ages 3 and 4, but those are special event classes, or ones scheduled through our partner program at the ARCC. But you are never too old to begin your martial arts journey! We have students and black belts that are well into their 60's and 70's that are still kicking strong and making us youngsters sweat!

Is there any equipment needed to start? No equipment is needed to begin! A comfortable pair of shorts or sweats with a plain shirt is perfectly ok. We do ask that after their first belt test that students order at least instep guards, which can be purchased through us to assure quality and sizing. Other equipment such as uniforms and safety gloves can also be made through us.

What about limitations? At our school, our mission is to take care of the students. We will work with you to give you the best martial arts program suited for your limitations without compromising the techniques. We have had students with ADHD, OCD, Autism, and physical disabilities or limitations before. We ask that you come try a class to make sure that it is something you are comfortable doing before committing.
